What does Amikos mean?
The Thracians, a community that gave its name to Thrace and was known throughout history for its warrior characteristics, crossed the Bosphorus and came to Beykoz, where they established the Bebrik State and named it “Amikos” after the name of their king Amikos.
The word “ami”, which is at the root of the word Amikos, is of French origin. “friend, lover” c. 1300, from Old French amy, ami “friend, lover, lover; relative” (11c.), from Latin amicus “friend”.
